Dear FSS participants (and community members),
Happy 4th of July! What better way to celebrate the 4th of July and Freedom than with an FSS GRADUATION! Freedom to pursue your dreams! Lawanda has found full time employment while on the FSS program. She joined FSS on 1/1/2017. She increased her credit score, tracked her expenses, made a budget, kept this budget for more than 3 months, paid off her small debts, got a credit card, obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant certificate, became state CNA certified, created a resume, created a cover letter, obtained full time employment and maintained employment for more than 6 months. She did all of this while being a single parent. She graduates from the FSS program with $7,237 in her FSS escrow. Please join me in congratulating Lawanda!

Resources to Support Household Expenses: Household costs are rising for families across the state and there are programs that are available to help offset household costs. Both the Public Service Commission Lifeline program and the FCC Affordable Connectivity Program offer financial discounts and support to access needed telephone and broadband internet connections for eligible households. While families must register for the programs separately, eligible families can receive both Lifeline and ACP benefits to provide a significant reduction in monthly costs. The ACP also offers a one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet or desktop computer. Individuals can call 211 to get connected to these programs or see page 10 and 11.
Please read the rest of this newsletter HERE with educational, employment and community opportunities. I wish you and your family a very Happy and Healthy July! And as always, please let me know how I can help you by calling me at 920-424-1470 ext. 133 or emailing me at kayh@ohawcha.org.
