Dear FSS participants and Community members,
Happy September! School is starting whether it is virtual or in person. This has been a crazy time with school plans changing seemingly over night. Here’s hoping your school plan is an easy transition back to school and keeps our families safe!
Oshkosh/Winnebago County Housing Authority offices are still closed to the public. We are still here though and ready whenever you are. If you need to submit documentation of a job starting or ending, please submit by: email to kayh@ohawcha.org, fax (920-424-1474) or drop into our drop box at : 600 Merritt Avenue, Oshkosh or 265 Kaukauna St, Menasha. Check out these events and many more in this September newsletter:
Our Quarterly FSS Connection Group Meeting is September 14th at 9 am. Jordan Dvorak, FSET & W-2 Team Lead for Forward Service Corporation, will be talking about FSC’s programs and services like W2, FSET, JAL, WETAP and Emergency Assistance. Let’s also share agency updates. During these unusual times, we have had to figure out a new way of working. How is your agency meeting with people? What has worked at your agency? What has not worked at your agency? How have you overcome obstacles? What gaps have you noticed during COVID that are not being met? See page 15 for the Zoom link.
Rent Smart virtual classes are now available in the fall. Are you looking for a new place to live? Rent Smart can give you tips on finding affordable housing, strategies on building positive relationships with landlords, and responsibilities/rights of landlords and tenants. Did you know if you go though this class, you get a year of positive rental history? Many landlords use the Rent Smart certificate to determine if you would be a good tenant. See page 3 for more information.
Drive Thru Job Fair is scheduled for September 17, 2020 from 12 pm-4 pm in Menasha and Fond du Lac. See page 5 for more details.
Please read the rest of this newsletter HERE with educational, employment and community opportunities. I wish you and your family a very Happy September! Let’s continue to strive to meet your goals and strengthen your self sufficiency. And as always, please let me know how I can help you by calling me at 920-424-1470 ext. 133.
Your success is my success.
Good health to you!
